Being Creative with movement- Need help with exploring health?
Health for me has been about staying active, strong and moving free. Now that I achieved half century status I can say that I am still able to move free from pain, still play with my kids, my youngest is 3 my oldest is 33! And I have 5 grandkids! Being creative plays a huge part in my mental game as well. It allows me to be free with my training modalities. Barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, clubs, maces, ropes, suspension, bands, sledgehammers, swords, shields, strongman, sandbags, martial arts, etc, I love and use them all because each modality allows you to be creative. Once you learn basic body mechanics and movement patterns, everything becomes a tool to explore and find yourself within that tool. At a young age I connected with the concept of self discovery, my internal dialogue as a youth and to this day, has always been focused around higher concepts and finding out who I am. I believe if you can connect your pursuit of health and strength with something more than numbers, more than sets and reps, then your pursuit transcends the mundane everyday work and becomes your spark, the spark becomes your motivation and you become better. The tools and the movements you choose inspire you to be creative, and it permeates into all aspects of your life. Today at 51, I am more free mentally and physically than I ever have been in my life. My adventure continues!
