Slim The HammerMan Double Lever Hammer Device
In 2008, StrongerGrip was in it's 2nd year. I went from selling grip creations on ebay to making my own online presence as StrongerGrip.com. I was communicating with legend Dennis Rogers, he was carrying a few items on his store that I made. The GripBall Dumbbells, Silver Dollar Pincher and one of my earliest creations the leverage block! 2008 I was invited to the 1st Old Time Strongman University seminar and the only one to be lead by Dennis himself. My connection to Dennis stemmed from my journey, my stumbling upon of old school training methods and my insatiable desire for knowledge on physical culture and everything that surrounded this vast subject. Ok, let me focus before going off on a tangent, Slim The HammerMan Farman. A pupil of The Mighty Atom and complete badass. An old school Man. An inspiring, hard working man of hammers and twisted metal. After that seminar which was so amazing, I had many more ideas. One that stood out was the double hammer lever device. In 1975, Slim “The Hammer Man” Farman towered in front of the crowd of 21,000 bewildered fans at Madison Square Garden. In a few moments he would attempt a world record: to lever a pair of twenty eight pound hammers — 56 pounds total on 31 inch handles, with 1736-inch pounds of pressure on his wrists. That's a ton of pressure, almost! Well he did it. Go look up more info on Slim, you'll either be inspired or feel less of a person. I created my Double Lever Hammer Device to work the wrists in this fashion, I used it in several of my performances that I did locally at schools, car shows and other events. With all the years that have passed, I am bringing back some nostalgic pieces that I made almost decades ago! Check out the pic of the wild crew that was present in 2008. Ah, memories.
